Subject:        Hamlet and Recognition

I think the little pictures referred to are portrait miniatures, a Tudor
art form that saw some splendid achievements, along with what for the
time amounted to mass production.  Leslie Hotson writes intelligently
and discursively about these (and one in particular) in "Shakespeare by
Hilliard".
