I advised the University of South Carolina Beaufort librarian, Ellen

I suspect that our library at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC would be
interested. Contact Suzanne France, Reference Librarian.

Comment: Re: SHK 15.0485 Old Journals
Norman Hinton wrote about David Hale's stock of back issues of leading
journals:
>3 of the journals mentioned are in "jstor", and
>their contents can easily be retrieved and read
>by any student at a PC.
If only that were true. JStor is a subscription service and the student
would have to be a member of an institution paying for that privilege.
(One reason that digital resources appear mysterious is that the access
procedures can be made so seamless one doesn't realize that what looks
like 'free entry' only happens after a series of background checks are
made to confirm that one is entitled to read the stuff presented.)
