Subject: WARNING: New Internet Computer Worm: "Bagle/Beagle"

Dear SHAKSPEReans,

I generally avoid announcements of this sort, but in this case a warning
is in order.

Over the past weekend, a computer worm was released on the Internet.
This worm, known as "Bagle" or "Beagle," arrives as an e-mail attachment
with the subject line "Hi" and "test : )" in the body of the text. It is
activated when a user opens the attached file.

According to an article in _The Washington Post_, "Once the attachment
is opened, the worm tries to send copies of itself to all of the e-mail
addresses that it finds on the victim's computer, faking the return
address with one randomly generated from those sifted from the infected
PC. It also installs a program that lets attackers connect to infected
machines, install malicious software or steal files."

I am sending this warning because accounts on the SHAKSPER server are
being "spoofed," that is made to appear as the source of these infected
e-mails.

Please be wary of e-mails with the subject line "Hi" no matter what the
source, including This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.,
