Subject: Pasternak's Translations of Shakespeare

If memory serves, from time to time questions about Pasternak's
translations of Shakespeare have been raised on this list. Perhaps the
following will be of interest, especially to those in the San Francisco
Bay Area.

Stanford University is hosting a Pasternak conference, which began on
Monday and goes through Friday. A news story is here:

There will be a paper given on the Shakespeare translations Friday just
after 11 a. m. Here are the details on that paper session, which is
scheduled to be held at the Tresidder Oak Lounge in the
Tresidder Student Union (that's upstairs):

 > Friday, May 7, 11-12:30 Chair: Gabriella Safran (Stanford)
 > Ann Pasternak-Slater (Oxford). Pasternak's Translations of Shakespeare
 > Reviel Netz (Stanford). Pasternak and Hebrew Poets
 > Erika Greber (Munich). Metonymy in Improvisation: Pasternak, Mayakovsky,
 > Jakobson and their 1919 bouts-rim
