Subject: Lewknor Markham, Son (?) of Gervaise (Jervis)
I'm trying to find anything at all about Lewknor Markham, "esquire", who
might have been the son of Gervaise (Jervis) Markham, the early
17th-century hack writer.
Lewknor (I believe) married Mary Frith (Moll Cutpurse) in St Mary Overie
(now Southwark Cathedral) on March 23, 1614 (modern dating). The
location of the ceremony, in the "actor's church" of the time, is a
possible hint that he might have been involved in the theatre (although
