CALL FOR PAPERS
Irish and Scottish Graduate Conference in Renaissance Studies
"Renaissance Spaces and Margins"
The Queen's University of Belfast
16 and 17 October 2004
We invite papers on the topic of 'Renaissance Spaces and Margins' from
graduate students of all disciplinary backgrounds who study at
universities in Ireland and Scotland and work on any aspect of
Renaissance studies. Papers should last no more than 20 minutes.
Possible interpretations of the theme may include:
The spaces of literary, theatrical and filmic production; marginal texts
and authors; margins of gender, class, age and ethnic identity; social,
geographical, political, and religious spaces; temporal spaces and
margins; re-conceiving the Renaissance in Irish and Scottish
institutions; or any other interpretation of the topic of 'Renaissance
Spaces and Margins'.
Abstracts of 150-300 words should be sent to Naomi McAreavey or Edel
