Subject: Harpsonnets
This coming Sunday, May 23rd, at 7:30 pm, the Central City Chorus (of
New York) will premiere a piece featuring four sonnets set for harp and
chorus, commissioned for the chorus, and composed by James Bassi. The
sonnets are
XVIII (Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?)
XIX (Devouring Time, blunt thou the lion's paws)
XCVII (How like a winter hath my absence been)
CXXVIII(How oft when thou, my music, music play'st)
The Central City Chorus sings at the Church of St. John the Baptist,
which is 210 West 31st Street, just west of 7th Avenue. Admission is $20.
