Subject: A Disney Midsummer Night's Dream?

Someone recently informed me that Disney has completed an animated film
of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and that its release was delayed to avoid
conflict with Hoffman's live action version in 1999. I'm writing to
learn whether anyone can confidently confirm or deny this information,
since I cannot find any evidence to corroborate this claim. I do know
that there are several animated versions of A Midsummer Night's Dream
(Jiri Trnka's full length version, a shorter version for Shakespeare:
The Animated Tales, and a to-be-released Spanish animated adaptation
recently discussed on SHAKSPER, to name a few), so it's possible that
this is just a garbled rumor. If you have any information about this
film (or can confidently deny its existence), please contact me.

Many thanks,
Douglas Lanier
