Subject: Hamlet: Who Cuts It Best?
I have a simple question, on behalf of a young director: is there a
published version of a two-hour Hamlet? I believe one could get
Zefferelli's version in book form, but that would entail getting rid of
the opening scenes and transposing others out of sequence.
When you are a director and have to cut the play to two hours or a
little more, where is your best guide to making the cuts?
Thanks for any help.
