Thanks to all who responded to my query, on- and off-list. I'm glad to
know that the "no, not" figure is correctio, with the refinements Alan
Horn mentions. The sole example for "correctio" on Silva Rhetoricae is
yet a different line from Hamlet than those cited:

That it should come [to this]!
But two months dead, nay, not so much, not two.
