Dear Friends,

I think what Dr. Egan meant is that the text used to set the Folio "King
John" was not a script or prompt-copy that was used in performance. I
don't think Dr. E was suggesting KJ was a closet drama. Then again, Andy
Gurr has an essay on H5 which (attractively) argues that the Folio
script was never performed. And that Shakespeare knew it wouldn't be
performed in this form when he delivered it to company.
