Subject: Shakespeare and the Qu'ran
Comment: SHK 16.0366 Shakespeare and the Qu'ran

Peter Bridgman has it that

'In one of Borges' short stories a scholar called Pierre Menard writes a
version of Don Quixote that is identical to the original, but without
copying a single word from Cervantes.'

No. The point is that whilst every word is copied from Cervantes,
Menard's version is emphatically not identical to the original. How true.

T. Hawkes
