Subject: Online Find: English Poetry & Prose Drama Databases &C.
Unexpectedly I found a public gateway to some etext databases that
independent scholars and others on SHAKSPER may wish to investigate.
The gateway is at Stanford's Humanities Digital Information Service:
http://library.stanford.edu/depts/hasrg/hdis/ The address for the
British and Irish Literature collections is:
http://library.stanford.edu/depts/hasrg/hdis/text-brit.html Some of the
collections are restricted but there is public access to these:
--English Poetry (Stanford search interface)
--English Prose Drama (Stanford search interface)
--Christopher Marlowe: Works
--William Shakespeare (Oxford Edition, ed. Wells & Taylor; access scene
by scene; text has line numbers)
--John Milton: Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained
--Eighteenth-Century Prose Fiction
--William Congreve Plays
--Jane Austen Novels and Letters
--The Bront
