Date: Sunday, 09 Jan 2005 18:35:17 +0000 Subject: Canterbury Tales - Knight's Tale Here in the United States, the BBC AMERICA cable station has begun showing a BBC series that supposedly updates several of Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales." The first episode, which they showed Saturday night, was supposed to be based on the tale of the Wife of the Bath, but the story they showed had very little to do with Chaucer in my opinion. In two or three weeks, they have scheduled an episode which is supposed to be based on the Knight's tale, which was also the basis of "Two Noble Kinsmen." Would one of Hardy's British readers, who might have seen this series when it was shown on the BBC a year or so ago, care to comment?
