The English Department at St. John's University invites applications for
a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in Early
Modern British Literature.  The position is mainly based on our Staten
Island campus, with teaching opportunities in our graduate program in
Queens.  Candidates with ability to teach Medieval literature also are
strongly encouraged to apply.  Applicants should have the PhD in hand by
September 1, a record of teaching excellence, and publications in Early
Modern Literature.  Please submit a letter of inquiry, c.v., dossier and
a writing sample to Stephen Sicari, Chair, English Department, St.
John's University, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Jamaica NY 11439 by Thursday,
March 31.
