Subject: Biography of Elizabeth I
I am posting this query on behalf of a colleague who is teaching a
course for the first time and wants to assign a relatively short
biography of Elizabeth I that wouldn't be too daunting for the average
undergraduate. He is already aware of Maria Perry's The Word of a
Prince (1990) and Allison Weir's The Life of Elizabeth I but hasn't
actually examined them yet. Can anyone offer a recommendation for
either of those works or another that might be better?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
