Subject: New Bardcore DVD spin-off of The Taming of the Shrew

Stormy Romance (dir. Wesley Emerson, 2004) is an adult spin-off of The
Taming of the Shrew (or perhaps a spin-off of 10 Things I Hate About
you). Same plot, but set in contemporary California bed and breakfast,
with characters Bernie aka Bernard, Bianca, Luke, Katherine (Kit), and
Peter Rucchio. There is a narrative frame (a guy is telling his
girlfriend the story, and in later scenes they pause during sex to have
talk about it). Bernie / Baptista is played by Evan Stone, who starred
as Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Cream. There is an unusually large
amount of dialogue. Aurora Snow, who appears in Sexspeare, also appears
in this film as Baptista's girlfriend named Beth. None of Shakespeare's
play is used, but characters occasionally use faux-archaic syntax. No
mention of Shakespeare is made in the film.
