Subject: Shakespeare's Flowers and Plants
Hi,
On a visit to Harvard 10 or so years ago, I stumbled into Rosa M. Towne
plates Harvard was selling individually. I purchased a complete set and
had them bound. The collection is named Plant Lore of Shakespeare. The
73 plates (10" wide, 14" wide) were produced from "Original paintings
are the property of the Botanical Museum of Harvard University" by The
Frame House Gallery, Louisville, Kentucky, 1974. I do not know the size
of the edition; the plates are not signed.
The odd page is the plate, occasionally with more than one plant; when
there is more than one plant, they are numerically keyed to the text on
the even (facing) page. In addition to the name of the plant, the play
is quoted, including act & scene.
Stay healthy,
Tom
