You can find press reports (of varying stages of reliability) of the
discovery of the true identity of the sitter by typing
Lady Norton Southampton
into Google.
The owner of the portrait, Alec Cobbe and I are editing a book, with the
provisional title of 'Shakespeare's Lovely Boy: Poet and Patron', which
will be published within the next few months. It will be amply
illustrated and will include essays by a number of distinguished
contributors relating to the portrait and to Southampton as patron,
along with reprints of the Shakespeare poems dedicated to the earl.
