Subject: 16.0795 How to Play Henry V act 1 scene 2
Comment: Re: SHK 16.0795 How to Play Henry V act 1 scene 2
Went to SCETI page, for which relief much thanks, and found everything
in high and reasonably readable shape, except the one page which
contains the first half of Canterbury's speech -- which as I guess
everyone knows -- Shakespeare has NOT paraphrased, but reset in poetic
mode with virtually no tampering. Geez, what must it have been like for
the court to suffer through that.
My other question -- which may or may not have been asked -- is: when
and if was the play performed, presumably at court, before Elizabeth and
or James I.
Thanks,
HR Greenberg MD
