Subject: Wedding and Things
Melissa's wedding was wonderful; she was a beautiful bride. Her sister
Rebecca was a stunning junior maid of honor and played her flute
impeccably both in accompanying the cellist and violinist and in solo.
And, of course, my son-in-law is a very special person. A fine
conclusion to a meeting in an Internet chat room eight years ago.
Our former rector said it was the most beautiful wedding he had ever
attended and he was a priest for close to forty years. Our former next
door neighbor said it was one of the two best he had ever been to, and
the other one was given by the man who owned Secretariat.
I should be able to get back to editing SHAKSPER digest on Tuesday, May
17, because I give my last finals tomorrow and have an extremely tall
stack of papers to grade.
Thanks for bearing with me during this rather eventful time,
PS: My toast did not include a Shakespearean quotation. However, for the
first reading, I recited Sonnet 116.
