Subject:        West Indian Musical Version of LLL

Channel 4, UK, transmitted a documentary on the workshopping of black
musicals at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, RAPPIN' AT THE ROYAL, on
Sunday 22 May, repeated 26 May 1.10.a.m.  The programme includes
extracts from 'The Big Life', a musical about the 'Windrush' West Indian
immigration into Britain in the 1950s based on 'Love's Labour's Lost'.
This was written by Paul Joseph and Paul Sirret (currently Literary
Manager at the RSC). The theatre show played at Stratford East last year
and opens at the Apollo Theatre, London 23rd May. It is billed as the
first West Indian musical in the West End.
