Subject: CFP: 2006 West Virginia Shakespeare and Renaissance
Association Conference
The 33rd Annual West Virginia Shakespeare and Renaissance Association
Conference
CALL FOR PAPERS
The 33rd annual WEVSARA Conference will be held on 6-8 April 2006 at
Marshall University in Huntington, WV. The Conference Steering Committee
invites submissions not only on Shakespeare but also on other
Renaissance authors, including Milton and Spenser. Interdisciplinary
approaches to Renaissance literature, as well as traditional and
postmodern readings are welcome. Although the conference has no single
focus or theme, the steering committee is particularly interested in
receiving submissions on Shakespeare's tragedies and on
Non-Shakespearean drama in general. Papers read at the 2006 conference
are eligible for publication in the 2007 issue of SRASP (Shakespeare and
Renaissance Association: Selected Papers), a juried, refereed journal
with a distinguished Editorial Board.
The plenary address for the 2006 conference will be given by Mary Ellen
Lamb, Professor of English at Southern Illinois University: "Rethinking
Popular Culture in *Midsummer Night's Dream*: Fairies and Hobbyhorses."
Panel proposals (groups of three), papers (20 minutes reading time: 8-10
pages, double-spaced), and abstracts (100-150 words) are all invited for
consideration and should be sent to
