Subject: Articles/Publishing
Dear Colleagues,
In 2004 my publication Latvian Hamlets: In Search of Identity and
Nationhood was released in the Proceedings of the II International
Shakespeare Conference "Playing Games with Shakespeare: Contemporary
Reception of Shakespeare in the Baltic Region", which was held in
Gdan'sk, on 6-8 August 2004.
Having got a highly positive feedback both from the participants of the
above-mentioned conference and some other colleagues of mine, I would
like to continue this research and to give insights into the other
Shakespearean plays staged in Latvia that could result in a monograph.
However, in my opinion, it is very important to understand the potential
interest of the Shakespearean community in such a project and the
opportunities in finding a prospective publisher.
I hope you will find some time for reading my article on the Forum web
site and will be able to advise me how to initiate the search of
publishing house/s.
Moreover, as a novice article writer I am searching for opportunities to
publish another paper of mine (it also can found on the Forum web site)
which has already been rejected twice (by the Humanity Faculty of Kaunas
Technical University and by a cinematographic journal JumpCut). Both
institutions regard the paper as interesting and professional, yet don't
find the research area to correspond the scope of their interests.
Best regards,
Ilona Goldmane
