Subject: CFP _Shakespeare_, the Journal of the British Shakespeare
Association
The journal Shakespeare is the organ of the British Shakespeare
Association (BSA) and it was officially launched at the BSA meeting in
Newcastle-upon-Tyne last week.
Contributions are invited for future issues of the journal to be
published by Routledge in 2006 and 2007. Academics working in the
United Kingdom will be aware that materials to be included in the next
Research Assessment Exercize must be published by the end of 2007. There
remain spaces to be filled in journal for that year (volume 3, issues 1,
2, and 3), but they are going fast.
The journal aims to bring together Shakespeare scholarship and
Shakespeare in performance in order to open newly emergent debates
across disciplines. It is currently published online twice a year and in
a bound paper volume comprising two issues once a year. In 2007 this
will increase to 3 issues a year and in 2008 the journal will become
quarterly.
Contributions on all topics and approaches to Shakespeare will be
considered and the journal applies a rigorous principle of anonymous
(that is, blind) peer review. Contributors can normally expect a
decision on publication within 3 months of submission.
Contributions should be about 6,000 words and should be emailed as Word
documents to the journal editors John Joughin (
