Subject: lovelocks
A student just asked me about lovelocks, referring to "Deformed's"
lovelock in Much Ado. I can find good explanations for what a lovelock
is, beginning with reference to Pope's Rape of the Lock. However, I
cannot find any painting or early drawing to show how such a lovelock
would have been worn or used. Can anyone help me with this?
