As an amateur philosopher I disagree with the Fodor quote. Perhaps
scholars must be outrageous but I believe philosophy has a definite
future. Since there are too many truths to be embraced by any discipline
and since being eclectic is deemed superficial, we may need to find a
place from which one might philosophize with something like acumen and
have her or his thoughts register somehow. Best, S
