"What is the most economical way to house 15-20 students for a weekend
of attending plays in Stratford, Ontario?"

Bundling. They'll get used to it.

Dear Jack:

Pitching a tent in the park by the side of the Avon River might work.

Seriously, though, it would depend on when you are going, where the
shows are being staged, and whether transportation is an issue. We
always stay at a small B&B, but have tried other accommodations over the
years.

If transportation is a problem, the Arden Inn is within walking distance
of the Festival Theatre.

If transportation is not an issue and cost is paramount, the Shakespeare
Inn in Shakespeare, Ont. Is about five minutes via car from Stratford
and might be an option.

Although the feedlots / newly fertilized fields can be a bit fragrant if
the wind is coming from the right direction, the accommodations are
clean and would seem to be student friendly.

Cheers,
Deborah Selden

Jack,

Try the residences at the Stratford General Hospital. It's generally
affordable and surprisingly comfortable for a dorm-like setting, and I
believe they have additional discount rates for student groups. The
website is http://www.sgh.stratford.on.ca/residence/.

My thanks to Todd Pettigrew, Eva McManus, and Heather Doran for replies
offlist. They have suggested the dormitories of a medical school in
Stratford and of the University of Waterloo. I may try the medical
school first.

Cheers,
Jack Heller
