Subject: My SAA Essay
Dear SHAKSPEReans,
I need to get back to my SAA essay, so I don't have a long time to
philosophize.
I sent out a few messages today that I considered, even after some
editorial incisions, to remain only borderline acceptable.
The mail I have received about my new editorial stance has been
overwhelmingly affirmative, but I realize some are disappointed that I
have returned to the milieu that gave birth to the conference as its
central focus.
I find reactions to this list and contributions to it to be a
fascinating trove for exploration. Maybe I should offer a session at
future SAA Annual Meeting on SHAKSPER. Possible topics might include:
SHAKSPER and the Culture Wars
I Want a List Just Like the List that . . .
Passive-Aggressive Postings and SHAKSPER
Life with Charlie: Pets and Pet Theories and SHAKSPER
You get the idea, and now I've got to get back to my essay.
