You can call me an old cynic if you like, but I would have been more
impressed if the "Adele Mellen Prize" had been unrelated to the Edwin
Mellen Press...
I have never been able to fathom the commercial basis of the Edwin
Mellen Press, which seems to have a rather curious business model.
Also: "The Edwin Mellen Press does not accept subsidies or grants toward
the publication of its titles because it believes such practices distort
the publishing process." Which is nice to know, although you have to
wonder why they find it necessary to state that in the first place!
