The Editor writes,
>Hamlet Blog Place, wherever that may be.
Where may that be????????
[Editor's Note:
I am NOT the only game in town.
Since February, after ten or so years of pleading with members to
exercise self-moderation, I have become more intentional about what I
post on SHAKSPER.
In the recent past, I have provided instructions for establishing Yahoo
Groups and QuickTopic Groups
<http://www.shaksper.net/archives/2005/2038.html>, only two of the many
FREE venues available for discussions and blogs. In addition, I am more
than willing to announce any Shakespeare-related, specific-purpose
discussion groups anyone would care to launch, and I am further willing
to consider listing such groups/blogs on a page linked to the SHAKSPER
homepage <http://www.shaksper.net/>, with the title being something like
Discussion Places. Heck, I will also consider donating space on the
super-duper, new SHAKSPER server for specific-purpose discussions or
blogs so long as I am not responsible for them or so long as SHAKSPER is
not associated with them in any formal manner.
I simply no longer care to offer SHAKSPER (through my commercial
high-speed Internet DSL, my server costs and maintenance, my L-Soft
listserv software licensing fees, and my domain-registration fees) as a
place for Shakespeare chatting.
After years and years of trying to be many, many things to many, many
different people, I am taking more active control over what I am
offering on SHAKSPER.
I am amused, possibly even flattered, that my meanings and intentions
have become a subject for meta-discussion in and of themselves;
especially since I believe that (perhaps except when I have resorted to
extreme satire) I write and express myself fairly clearly.
I am pleased that so many appreciate what I offer here. I thank you for
your good wishes and your support, but the changes I have initiated are
ones that I felt compelled to make for MYSELF. I do not believe that any
more needs to be said.
