Subject: Stratford: RSC's _Canterbury Tales_
In the spirit of "turnabout is fair play"--I have just seen both Part I
and Part II of the RSC's stage rendition of _Canterbury Tales_, and they
were equally delightful! Those in the US will only have the opportunity
if they are in near proximity to Washington, DC's Kennedy Center within
the next two weeks--and can somehow get tickets for the sold-out
performances. But such seeing such a production--as cleverly staged and
brilliantly acted and produced as this one was--in Stratford would
certainly have left me with a more positive impression of the Birthplace.
Perhaps I will give it a second chance to affect me as positively as it
has some of you on my next trip to England. I will certainly make an
effort to see _Coriolanus_ (RSC's next US offering) here, and may even
have the opportunity to see the company in its "home court" sometime soon.
Best to all,
Carol Barton
