The actual coverage of the ESTC is 1473 to 1800. It started life as the
Eighteenth century Short Title Catalogue, but was later extended to
include STC/Wing. (The earlier-period entries are probably being upgraded
- I once asked how the eighteenth-century titles were shortened, and was
told that they weren't!)
