According to various web postings it will be filmed in Vegas at the
Venetian. The latter is where Michael Jackson had his famous shopping
spree accompanied by Martin Bashir.

He told the British Graduate Conference in June that it would be in
modern dress, set in a Las Vegas casino, with McKellen as Antonio and
Julia Stiles as Portia. Michael Almereyda was slated to direct at that
point. I do not know if anything has changed since then but I'm glad to
hear that it is going through because his enthusiasm for the project was
very palpable.
