Subject: Carol Thomas Neeley Question
Seeing Gene Tyburn's lyrics to his Hamlet Opera reminded me-I recently
recorded a song called "Zounds," which is going to appear on the next
album of my band, Continuous Peasant. It's loosely based on Emilia's last
speech, right before she's being killed (the part of that play which
always makes me cry the most), and I'm dedicating it to the Shakespeare
scholar/critic Carol Thomas Neeley, whose seminal essay on that play
(published almost 30 years ago already) was very important to me back in
my grad school days.
I'm curious if anybody has any contact information for her as I would like
to send her the song as a token of my appreciation (even if she might not
like all the 'indie-rock" distorted guitar in it!) Feel free to
backchannel me---
Thank you,
Chris Stroffolino
