Subject: Who's this critic?
Fellow listmembers:
A few years ago, in my unsystematic way of reading, I came across a book
of Shakespearean criticism whose author suggested, among other things,
that Iago's puzzling "damn'd in a fair wife" might be emended to "limn'd
in a fair wife". Can anyone tell me who the critic was? I desperately
want to read her again (for the other things).
An offlist reply would be most welcome.
Thanks,
- Scot
