Subject: Teaching Shakespeare to ESL Students?
Greetings.
A student of mine, majoring in Secondary Education/English, is
researching how one might go about teaching Shakespeare to a classroom
of students for whom English is a second language. He's particularly
curious about how one manages the Elizabethan English and Modern English
pedagogical demands.
I've sent him to read "Shakespeare in the Bush," but I thought his query
might generate some response from this larger and learned Shakespeare
community. Any thoughts, suggestions, advice, anecdotes would be
appreciated.
