James Burbage's wife, the mother of Richard and Cuthbert, was Ellen
Brayne, the daughter of Thomas Brayne, citizen and girdler of London,
and sister of John Brayne, Burbage's partner in building the Theatre.

From the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
James Burbage married Ellen Brayne (/c/.1542-1613), the daughter of
Thomas Brayne, a tailor and freeman of the Girdlers' Company, at St
Stephen, Coleman Street, close to the Guildhall, on 23 April 1559.
Girdlers' Hall was in the adjoining parish of St Michael Bassishaw,
where Ellen's father had married Alice Barlow on 22 January 1541. Four
of James's and Ellen's children survived to adulthood: Cuthbert Burbage

15 June 1565, Richard Burbage

and Ellen on 13 June 1574, all at St Stephen; and Alice, baptized at St
Leonard, Shoreditch, on 11 March 1576. Ellen was buried at St Anne
Blackfriars on 13 December 1596 (register page wrongly dated 1595).
