Subject: 	Ron Rosenbaum's The Shakespeare Wars

At my local bookstore I noticed a stack of mint copies of Ron 
Rosenbaum's _The Shakespeare Wars:  Clashing Scholars, Public Fiascoes, 
Palace Coups_ (Random House, pub. Tuesday; 624 pp.; $35). Unfortunately 
I had only a moment to glance at it before rushing back to the parking 
meter ($40 tickets around SF), so got only the impression that it seems 
determinedly controversial.  The publisher blurb is at
