Subject: 17.0655 Shakespeare Reading -- Where?
Comment: Re: SHK 17.0655 Shakespeare Reading -- Where?
May I add to this question: Could one answer be that the theater
companies themselves maintained a collection of books? Or someone like
Henslowe. Shakespeare was not the only dramatist to use Holinshed and
Foxe. This is supposition, I readily admit, but it seems there would be
a certain economy in having commonly-used sources available for the
variety of dramatists working for any company. Is there a problem with
this idea of mine?
