Subject: Stratford, CT, Shakespeare Theatre
Regarding the Stratford CT Shakespeare theatre (where I saw many
productions, some of them memorable including the worst R&J I think I've
ever seen)...
The town of Stratford has selected a NYC developer to revive the
theatre, passing over a very active and theatre-connected local proposal.

I won't hold my breath till it's a fait accompli; this is not the first
time such announcements have been made to fanfares of various volumes.
The key bit of information is this: "The town's contract with KKP to
redevelop the theater and its surrounding property was approved with
several conditions including the group stage a Shakespeare summer season
this year. "The failure of any one performance clause would result in
the contract reverting back to the town," said Mayor Miron."
To date I have seen no announcement of a summer season. I'll keep
listmembers up to date on any actual performances scheduled.
