Dear All,
Yes but wasn't the startling statement of Jonson's Works that it was
printed in the expensive and expansive 'Folio' format - complete with
impressive Frontispiece and dedications etc.
What format were these other smaller Works issued in?
e.g. If a small but aspirant poet (say Andrew Motion) published his
'Works' in a Penguin 60 sized text (modern Octavo??) we might not take
his claim to greater immortality quite so seriously as we might have
done had he published them in a Folio sized edition (which is STILL very
expensive to buy - more than
