Subject: SHAKSPER Roundtable: Week One Digest
Dear SHAKSPEReans,
In a few minutes, I will distribute the first digest of our first week's
Roundtable discussion on the topic of Presentism.
Two members contributed in response to Hugh Grady's initial statement of
Monday, January 29: http://www.shaksper.net/archives/2007/0065.html
My hope is that in the following weeks more members will feel inclined
to contribute/participate in this Roundtable, a formal venue on SHAKSPER
for discussion of topics of current interest to the disciplines of
Shakespeare or Early Modern Studies.
I also hope that my Thursday, February 1, message clarifying Roundtable
procedures <http://www.shaksper.net/archives/2007/0067.html> cleared up
any misunderstanding that might have arisen from early descriptions of
the plans for operation.
Roundtable digests will be distributed once a week on Sundays, Mondays,
or Tuesdays. On Friday evenings of the week (EST), I will send all
responses of that week to the Guest Moderator, who will organize,
summarize, and comment on those replies. To distinguish these digests
from the quotidian traffic on the list and to make searching the
archives easier, I will label all of the digests on this topic "SHAKSPER
Roundtable: Presentism."
I welcome all private correspondence from members about the methods or
procedures of the Roundtable discussions as they evolve.
