Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Annual Poetry Awards, 2006
The results of this competition, established in 2004 by Marvin Rosenberg,
were announced on Monday, February 5. We had a strong field of entries
both in quality and quantity - almost 600 in all. We would like to thank
all of you who either entered yourselves or passed on notice of the
competition to your students. The 2007 competition is now announced on our
web site, www.DorothyPrizes.org with a closing date of November 6, 2007.
Prizes were awarded as follows:
$10,000 prizes to Marla Alupoaicei, Paula Bohince, Allen Braden and
Gillian Wegener
$7,500 prizes to Pilar Gmez-Ibnez and Dove Rengger-Thorpe
$5,000 prizes to K. Ballantine, Danielle Cadena Deulen, Robin Ekiss, Tess
Jolly, Allison Joseph, Eric Leigh, Erin Murphy, Felicity Plunkett and John
Poch
$2,500 prizes to Kimberly Burwick, Xochiquetzal Candelaria, Chloe Green,
Mihan Han, David Livewell, Christopher Locke, Lisa Ortiz, Rachel
Richardson, Emily Rosko, and Jennifer Whitaker
$1,000 prizes to Kelli Russell Agodon, Douglas Basford, Timothy Donnelly,
Julie Dunlop, Vicki Goodfellow Duke, Scott Gallaway, Heather Hartley, Anne
Keefe, Jennifer Koiter, Dawn Lonsinger, Tolu Ogunlesi, and Alexis Orgera
There were also fourteen Honorable Mentions at $100 each.
