Call for Audio Theatre and Shakespeare Companies!

Speak the Speech is a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon,
dedicated to providing free audio productions of Shakespeare's plays
online. We currently produce a minimum of four plays a year. We have
already recorded The Tempest, Twelfth Night, As You Like It, and Henry
IV Parts I and II. Our current season includes Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet,
and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Other productions planned within the
next two years include Henry V, Othello, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Richard
III, and King Lear. However, we feel that an author as versatile as
Shakespeare is best represented by a wide range of companies. We are
looking for audio theatre and Shakespeare companies who would like to
produce an uncut recording of a Shakespearean play, which will be freely
distributed in the same manner as our other productions. While the
decision to distribute a recording under those guidelines means that no
monetary compensation will be received from Speak the Speech, your
company will of course receive all proper credit. Shakespeare's
writings encompass an unparalleled breadth of humanity. It seems
fitting that his plays be spoken across the country and even the world.
Please join us in spreading Shakespearean performance across the
Internet, making his plays more widely accessible than they have ever
been before. For more information about this and other volunteer
positions, please send a letter of interest to 3327A SW 12th Ave,
Portland, OR 97239, or to

Volunteer Dramaturg Position

Speak the Speech is a non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon
dedicated to providing free audio productions of Shakespeare's plays
online. The plays are accompanied by an annotated text to facilitate
the listener's understanding of the play. Speak the Speech is now
looking for volunteers to assist in the process of play annotation.
Volunteers will thoroughly research and annotate one of Shakespeare's
plays, as well as publish a brief summary and commentary on the play's
major themes. While no knowledge of HTML or JAVA is required,
volunteers will be provided the opportunity to learn about and work with
both formats. In short, this is an opportunity for volunteers with an
English or Theatre background to:

Demonstrate their critical thinking and analytical skills
    Gain experience in education
Develop basic skills in JAVA and HTML.
Publish and be credited for their writing about Shakespeare.

Volunteers must be able to work within deadlines, demonstrate a passion
for Shakespeare, and be both thorough and creative in their work.
