Many will add other languages to the list but there are Maori
translations of nine sonnets, the first pieces of Shakespeare translated
into Maori, which I heard read by the translator at the ANZSA conference
a few years ago. The volume is Nga waiata aroha a Hekepia (= Love
Sonnets by Shakespeare), translated by Merimeri Penfold (Holloway Press,
2000).
