Subject: Shakespeare and God
"Shakespeare and God" is the title of a talk/meeting to be given by Paul
Edmunson, Director of the Shakespeare Centre Stratford, to be held at
Rowington Church, near Stratford, on December 5th, at 7.30pm.
This is part of a series of meetings being organised by Rowington Church
during Advent.
Others meetings that might be of interest to local SHAKSPERians include
"Poetry and Prayer" by Diana Walls, English Tutor, Warwick University,
which will look at some great poets of the seventeenth century and how
prayer influenced their poetry, and which will be held on November 21st.
On November 28th, Revd. Leslie Houlden, formally Professor of Theology
at Kings College London, looks at the relationship between language and
faith.
If anyone would like any further information about any of these
meetings, a contact at Rowington Church is Vera Sida, E-mail:

Rowington is the Shakespeare family's ancestral home. Shakespeare Hall,
which is not far from the church, is a fine Elizabethan building, set
amongst oak trees in rolling farmland. A short walk from Rowington takes
you to Wroxhall, the birthplace of Richard Shakespeare, Shakespeare's
grandfather.

surrounding countryside here:
