SHARE YOUR LOVE OF SHAKESPEARE
The Folger Shakespeare Library, home to the world's largest collection
of materials relating to history's most influential playwright, offers a
wide array of opportunities for those who enjoy working with students,
visitors, and theatregoers. Docents receive extensive training about the
Library and its Early Modern resources. They're then invited to choose
among a variety of outreach efforts: conducting tours of the Elizabethan
Theatre and the Great Hall, for example, or helping with events such as
a festive annual Shakespeare's Birthday Open House. Other volunteers
staff classroom workshops, provide orientation sessions for exhibition
attendees, usher at concerts or stage performances, or provide support
for office work and special projects. For more information, simply click
on the links above or call Sarah Farmer at (202) 675-0391.
