Subject: How long to write a play?
I've just begun reading Stanley Wells's *Shakespeare and Co.:
Christopher Marlowe, Thomas Dekker, Ben Jonson, Thomas Middleton, John
Fletcher and the Other Players in His Story*. Early on (p. 25) he makes
a statement that the average time to write a play was between four to
six weeks. I'm assuming he's calculating from information taken from
Henlowe's "Diary." Does anybody know of other references supporting this?
