Subject: 19.0123 Shakespeare's Style
Comment: Re: SHK 19.0123 Shakespeare's Style
I forget the verbatim or who wrote about the following incident... While
waiting in a Walmart checkout line, a woman frustrated with a
conversation comparing WS to current writers blurted, "What's so big
about Shakespeare?" "He's just a bunch of quotes!"
Could a theory about style be formed related to why, after all this
time, quotations of Shakespeare should be sounded more than others?
Where from comes such delight? Could common underpinnings be found among
the 200 most quoted Shakespeare lines?
